Neil Young - Keep on rockin' in the free world

Wie letzthin im Logbuch erwähnt, ist das zweite Lied, das ich im Moment auf der Gitarre übe, Keep on rockin' in the free world von Neil Young. Neil Young ist für mich ein Chamäleon der Musik. Neben sehr seichten Lieder geht es des öfteren auch richtig rockig zur Sache. Dieses Lied ist eines davon. Vielen ist es sicher aus Michael Moore's Film Fahrenheit 9/11 bekannt. Ursprünglich geht das Lied auf einen von Neil Young's Bandkollegen zurück, der zu Fernsehaufnahmen von brennenden amerikanischen Flaggen im Iran gesagt hat "Whatever we do, we shouldn't go near the Mideast. It's probably better we just keep on rockin' in the free world." Das daraus entstandenen Lied ist aber viel mehr eine Kritik am damaligen amerikanischen Präsidenten George Bush sen.Von dem Lied gibt es zwei Versionen, eine mit Akkustikgitarren und nur zwei Strophen und die deutlich rockigere E-Gitarren-Fassung mit der dritten Strophe. Interessant fürs Selberspielen ist das Lied wegen zweier Akkordwechsel innerhalb eines Taktes. Nichts für langsame Finger.
